Taneycomo Lake

Come enjoy this 26 - mile stretch of the world famous White River. This tailrace of Table Rock Dam is Missouri’s show place trout fishery. Taneycomo is stocked annually with 800,000 to 1,000,000 Rainbows and 20,000 German Brown Trout. The lake gently flows through Old Downtown Branson.

Taneycomo’s upper sections at zero generation has fantastic fly fishing opportunities for those so inclined. The upper stretch of the river is a catch and release trophy area; only hard-bodied lures and flies may be used in this 4-mile stretch. The mid and lower sections of this river/lake afford trout fishing for any and all fishermen.

Fish may be caught in a variety of ways, from live bait to artificial lures. Delicious Rainbow trout may be kept by anglers with a hankering for a trout dinner. White River Outfitters fishes the entire river and will be glad to assist anglers of any skill, from seasoned fly casters to a family bait-fishing outing. Also available are great night fishing trips in the fall for trophy Brown and Rainbows.
