Meet Bill Babler, your guide and my husband. Bill has been involved in the great outdoors
all his life. He grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks region where he helped his family run a
marina and had his first taste of guiding fishermen. While getting a college degree in
Southern Missouri, he became quite familiar with Table Rock and Lake Taneycomo (to the
delight of hungry friends) and also met me. After college, he became a Missouri State
Water Patrolman for several years and after a few of life's twists and turns, found his
true calling and became a licensed, full-time fishing guide. We started WRO to help others
enjoy and learn about the most popular sport in the world. No matter if you're expert or
novice, young or old, male or female, you will feel safe and comfortable while enjoying
Bill's sense of humor and knowledge. Okay, after 25 years I might a little prejudice, so
here are a few things others have written about him.
"
like a maestro, Babler orchestrated our casts. By day's end we had caught and
released more than 60 rainbows and 12 browns. For the past several years I have been
extremely fortunate to fish with many guides throughout North and Central America. Bill
Babler rates at the top of the list."
Bob Whitehead, Managing Editor Outdoor Guide
"The effort and professionalism that was
put forth by Bill was second to none. He took great care to spend time with every one of
us to insure we had a good experience. And his efforts made my son's first fly fishing
experience one that he wished to live over and over. Bill is a true asset, and I would
recommend to anyone who wishes to become a part of this sport to visit your
operation."
Tom Dophin, President SkydiveMRVS
"Bill, Thanks for a great trip. Justin
and I had a blast! You teach us something different each time we go with you and I
appreciate that. Enjoyed the humor and fellowship as well."
Tim Peters
"Babler eased the 5 pound brown trout into the waiting net, but that was not the only
big catch of the day. By the time he, Phil Lilley, and I were done, we had caught and
released 39 rainbow and brown trout --fish that averaged over 17 inches. Good times are
indeed back at Taneycomo."
